Reading for Children

There is no better way to help children to read than helping them to read children's poems.

Children love stories that rhyme, and it's no wonder that all the story books for young children are invariably in verse. It helps them to guess words, helps them to remember words and helps them to learn.

Many of the well known children's stories were originally written in verse, and nursery rhymes all rhymed (the clue is in the name!).

Even today, many of the best loved children's reading books are in rhyme.
